We’ll remember this as the Great Winter Drought of 2025. Although there’s nothing great about it. Boo.
Trail coverage is really too thin unless you have an old pair of beater skis. So how can you get outside on these beautiful blue sky days?
- Great Glen just south of Gorham NH has decent snow.
- Quarry Road in Waterville has a 2.5km loop well covered with snowmaking, although much of it is pretty hilly.
- the lakes that are solidly covered with ice now have a layer of snow. Cross country skiing can be fun if the conditions are right. Or taking a walk on a lake with YakTracks can be a treat.
In the mean time, please continue to adhere to the Nordic skiers optimism that the snow will come. It will, and we’re all going to ski our hearts out when it does. See you then!!
